Custom Encryption Key

NotifiedBy allows you to use a custom encryption key for your emails see. This can be useful for ensuring that your emails are encrypted with a key that you control, and to be sure no one outside of your organization can read the emails.

The encryption key is used to encrypt the email body when it’s stored within the NotifiedBy system.

Note

The email sent to the recipient will not be encrypted with this key.

In order to view the email contents within the system you will have to provide the same key that was used to encrypt the email.

Important

We do not store the encryption key anywhere, so if you lose it, you will not be able to decrypt the emails.

The encryption key is set as a parameter in the headers of the API request when sending an email.
